Statement of Faith
We believe the Lord God created
the world and everything in it, including men and women (Genesis 1)
We believe all humans have sin, and need to come back to God out of the
darkness (Romans 3:23, Romans 1:16-32)
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was born to live a
perfect life and shine the light of truth into the darkness of the
world (John 1:1-34). He was born of the virgin Mary (Matthew 1). He was
fully God and fully Man (Luke 6:1-5, John 6:48-59, John 14:1-14)
We believe God is Love, and in His ministry Jesus taught us to love God
and love one another with all our hearts (Mark 12:28-30, Matthew 5, 1
John 4, 1 Corinthians 13)
We believe Jesus was crucified by Pontius Pilate and His fellow
countrymen, to die as a sacrifice for our sins (Matthew 27, Mark 15,
Luke 23, John 19, Hebrews 9:11-28)
We believe Jesus rose from death after three days, conquering sin and
death (Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, John 20, Acts 1, Romans 15)
We believe after ascending to Heaven (Acts 1), Jesus sat down at the
right hand of God in glory (Mark 16:19, Luke 20:42, Luke 22:69). Our
Savior lives and will return again (Mark 13:26-27, Revelation 22:6-21)
We believe after ascending, He sent us the Holy Spirit to dwell in our
hearts and guide our lives (John 16, Acts 2). Christians believe in the
Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Ghost (John 1:29-34,
Romans 8, Ephesians 2:18)
We believe Jesus calls all people of all nations to follow Him (Luke
9:23-27, Acts 17:22-31),
We believe all those who repent of their sin, confess their belief in
Jesus and are baptized in His Name will not lose their souls, but live
forever with Him in eternal life, and see God (John 3, Acts 2:14-41)
There is no other Way to God and eternal life than through His Son
Jesus (John 14:6)
We believe the Scriptures, or the Holy Bible, is the inerrant Word of
God, the record of the great things God has done for humanity, and our
means of knowing the Life of Christ, the prophets who came before Him,
and the apostles who preached His holy Name (Luke 24:27, John 5:39,
Acts 8:35, 1 Timothy 4:13, 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20)
We believe the Church is the Kingdom of Heaven, which belongs to Jesus
Christ, a community of believers who trust in His Word, rest in His
salvation, and seek to spread the Good News to the whole world (Matthew
5:14-16, Ephesians 4:1-7, Luke 8:21, John 18:36, 1 Corinthians
12:12-27).
The Church meets every Lord’s Day (Sunday) to
partake of the communion (bread and wine) to commemorate His death,
burial, and resurrection which gives us salvation (Luke 22:14-23, Mark
14:22-26, 1 Corinthians 11:17-34, Acts 20:7, Revelation 1:9-10).
